When New Doors Open
Feeling ageless, I didn’t hesitate to join my nieces in a round of cartwheels. Unfortunately, my 46-year-old spine didn’t share in my enthusiasm. Four weeks later, when an MRI discovered ruptured discs, fear on every level tried to rear its ugly head. Experiencing unbearable pain, unable to work and refusing surgery, I wondered if I was on the threshold of the new door to my already wonderful life. I’ve always known that I would speak and travel the world, sharing my gift. I knew it was time.
Now pain-free after months of alternative therapies, I step into the first day of my dream, and secretly thank my greatest motivator: pain. So, who am I? I am a mother, grandmother, daughter and friend who happens to have found a gift that will not contain itself, which is the ability to draw out pain. After a session when the client’s pain is gone and hope is restored, I sometimes give a very unprofessional whoop of joy, and wonder who benefited more: the client or me?
This gift, the heat, vibration and energy in my hands, is it unique to only a few? I don’t think so. If 10-year-old Jason and 70-year-old Mildred have the gift of healing, why don’t others? Is it really so mysterious, or do we all possess an untapped source of energy, like a door waiting to be nudged open?
I for one believe that I am not unique, and that I can, for instance, teach a young mother to ease the grip of colic in her newborn or soothe the incessant itch of chicken pox, teach a father to pull out the sting of a sunburn in his young teenage son, teach a wife to lessen her own burn from a hot skillet, teach a friend to calm the throb of a twisted ankle in his buddy, and last but not least, ease the headache of a stressed co-worker.
In short, I believe energy is limitless, and does not pick and choose who is gifted, but is just waiting to be recognized. Some disagree that this gift can be taught, but in facing their challenges, I only become more resolute. Please join me as I share my experiences and demonstrate firsthand the power of healing energy.
