FAQ

Your hourly rates are different? What is the difference?
Basically, we offer three different styles of massage:

 Facial Massage Relaxing Massage
This style offers pure relaxation with a lighter touch.
$75.00
 Two Hands Deep Tissue
For the client who knows and expects deep work, InTouch Therapy guarantees we will meet your needs or you will receive $20.00 off your massage.
$85.00
 Back Massage Barb's Signature Massage
Though available to anyone, this massage is geared to clients who know and feel energy work, and who regularly receive massages.
$95.00
 Shoulder Massage Energy Cradling
This style is perfect for anyone with muscular pain. When physicians, chiropractors or physical therapists are unable to reduce the pain, energy cradling will drastically reduce or remove the pain in one visit.
$95.00

Do we receive a full 60 minutes?

Two Hands  Absolutely. In fact, we encourage our clients to remain on the table for 10 minutes after the massage to let the work soak in.

  What if I'm late?

Clock  Time is valuable. For this reason, I am respectful of our clients and also our therapists. Massages begin and end at the scheduled time. Feel free to arrive early to relax and unwind before your massage.

  What about cancelling my appointment?

Clock  InTouch Therapy has a 24-hour cancellation policy. The client will be charged for the massage if we haven't received notice.

Is it common to receive a 90-minute massage?

Relaxing Massage More than half of our clients receive 90-minute massages. It is our preference as therapists to give 90-minute massages. It allows for an unrushed, thorough massage. If you ever receive a 90-minute massage, you'll never be able to go back to 60 minutes.

Should I be sore after a massage?

Smiling  No! If you are drinking enough water, and we are doing our job, you should feel better, not worse.

How much water should I be drinking?

 Men Smiling
 Water
You should drink half your body weight in ounces daily (i.e., 120 pounds = 60 ounces of water).

  Let’s talk about toxins.

Toxin Message  If you are dehydrated, you are almost guaranteed to get a headache or flu-like symptoms following a massage. Massage releases toxins. If there isn't enough fluid to flush them away, they get stuck in the tissues, causing discomfort. You must drink before and after your massage.

  What should I wear?

Relaxing Massage  For the best results, remove all clothing. You will be under a sheet and should never feel exposed. Sometimes clients prefer to leave undergarments on. This is your massage, and it is our goal to meet your needs and keep you as comfortable as possible.

  What about draping?

Massage  You will be covered with a sheet at all times. Not only is this the law, but as professionals, your comfort is our main concern. We will uncover each part of your body as we massage, replacing the sheet as we move on. Breasts and genitals are never exposed.

What is the "energy work" that you talk about?

 Hands

Everyone explains it a little differently. This is our own experience with energy: We each have an energy field around our body. Some, especially children, see it as an aura. Some only feel it.

To us, a healthy energy field feels like a tingly wool blanket about eight inches off the body. When there is pain, stress or traumas, some feel needles or jolts within that field. Our goal is to gently soothe the energy field until balance is achieved. This is done without touching the body. About 90 percent of clients, skeptics or not, feel the effects of the energy work.

  Energy Work During a Massage

Hands If you have a therapist who is highly magnetic and energy-conductive, you should feel a penetrating heat and vibration from his or her hands that leaves you with an overall tingly sensation unlike anything you've experienced before. In Barb’s experience, without exception, clients either feel the work or its effects afterward. She believes that if she is really effective at what she does, you will feel it and experience results in one visit. She is a skeptic at heart, so she enjoys skeptics and believes she should prove her work.

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to call. We are passionate about our work and we will gladly answer any other questions.
